We may have been bumped down to “even more news” pretty quickly but I’m happy we got covered by The Verge.
Introducing: The Layar Creator
It’s been a long road to where we are today, but we’re finally launching The Layar Creator.
This actually brings me back to Tim McGuire’s class at the Cronkite School where we discussed revitalizing the print industry with new media and new business models. Who would have thought when I took this job over a year and a half ago that one day I’d be helping to release a product that could very well be a big help to publishers.
Today we not only released a new product, but a whole new website, several new videos and lots of other inspiring content.
Please do me a favor and check out the hard work my colleagues and I have put into this. It’s an exciting day for us.
The end is nigh.
Even NBC Nightly News is talking about it… as BriWi points out. $1 billions is “enough to buy bankrupt Kodak twelve times over.”
Apple’s new store in Amsterdam is their biggest yet.
Yes. It is a play on words. A painfully corny play on words. I wasn’t saying it’s a spelling error. It’s an error in judgement. It pains me to think someone saw that “cute” word and thought, “Yes, this should go on our website.” It makes me, a copywriter myself, want to barf.
*Copywriter facepalm*
Still not sure if I want need it.

Staring contest between you and Josh, go!
Just had a vision of the future of computing. Ubuntu for Android (coming soon) will let you simply dock your smartphone to a desktop monitor and keyboard, transforming the mobile OS into a desktop-based one. Genius.
It makes more sense that Apple is making OS X more like iOS. Will we eventually carry our entire computers with us in our pockets, with different UI/UX for whether we’re mobile or docked? It seems to make a lot of sense to me.
Joshua Topolsky mathematically predicts uses Glenn Beck logic and Jim Carrey-esque “Number 23” calculations to suggest when the next iPad may be announced.
